2017 Season Review RiceRacePrep

Long season! 120 days on the road for 80 days at the track for 22 events. Many different drivers, all bringing their passion and personality, joined us for events in 2017.  Joel Haas wins FB at Homestead. Cliff Johnson 3rd overall and Masters winner at FRP Mid-Ohio-1. Chris Smith raced with us at FRP Indy. We worked with Cape Motorsports to run Steve Bamford in F4. Steve's Cape teammate Kyle Kirkwood won the F4 Championship. USA TeamUSA Scholarship driver Jonathan Kotyk joined us at Thompson for a SCCA event and brought home a 2nd place result. Jonathan had a great year finishing 2nd in the FRP Series and SCCA Runoffs. Joel Haas won his first FRP Masters race at PIRC. The high of the season after being taken out by another competitor when about to win the day before. RiceRacePrep pulled an all-nighter to fix the car and change the engine to make it all possible.  Rick Payne joined us at PIRC for a Masters runnerup finish. Joel Haas had strong wins at FRP Summit Point. The boss drove the Reynard at 5 events but failed to make a podium with a string of 4th results. Another season highlight for Joel Haas was the SCCA Runoffs. In a huge field, surrounded by former Champions, Joel qualified well, and was running in the top-8 before ending up in the wall. Simon Sikes joined the team for his first F1600 race at FRP NJMP and was outstanding with a pair of 4ths against tough seasoned competition. Thank you to all the drivers and crew who made 2017 such an outstanding season. Bring on 2018!
