Kyle August Returns to RiceRace for FRP F1600

Burton Kyle August will rejoin Rice Race for the 2021 FRP F1600 Championship driving the Monro Mygale. The 26 year old was born and raised in Rochester NY and is a graduate from LeMoyne College with a B.S. and an MBA in Business Management and Leadership. He has 9 years of racing including racing SCCA FV, vintage Mustangs, and two years of F1600 experience. As a rookie, Kyle finished 4th in the 2019 FRP F1600 championship. Only doing a pair of 2020 FRP events, Kyle had his first start from pole, several top 5 finishes, and finished 5th in the SCCA Runoffs.

"We are excited to watch the development of Kyle as a competitive race driver. Without an extensive karting background, Kyle has developed through club racing" reports team owner Greg Rice. "He ran FV with Advantage Motorsports, then moved into the family FV and vintage Mustang. His next step will be some podiums and race wins. We are always looking to move good club racers into the team."

The RiceRace entered Mygale will be sponsored by Monro Auto Service and Tire Centers. Headquartered in Rochester, NY, Monro, Inc. is a leading independently-owned and operated auto service and tire provider in the United States. The Company went public in 1991 and trades on the NASDAQ under the symbol MNRO. Monro, Inc. operates more than 1150 stores, has 98 franchised locations, 9 wholesale locations and 3 retread facilities in 28 states, serving the Mid-Atlantic and New England regions and portions of the Great Lakes, Midwest and Southeast.

With Kyle August joining Will Holtz as confirmed for FRP, the RiceRace team now looks to fill the 3rd F1600 seat. Having several drivers share that 3rd seat is the most likely plan, especially if that introduces new drivers to the team and the Series. The team would like to bring those part-timers into the team as full-timers in 2022. Please contact Greg Rice at RiceRacePrep@gmail.com for more information.

With the FRP F1600 events nicely spread through the year, RiceRace will also be supporting SCCA club events, including the June Sprints and Runoffs that take place at Indy. Still needed is a driver for their Citation FC car. The team's next event is a Hoosier Super Tour event on March 20-21 at Summit Point, followed two weeks later for the FRP F1600 event at Carolina Motorsport Park.
