RiceRace Returns to FRP For 13th Season

Greg Rice brought Steve Bamford to VIR on April 19th, 2011 for the first Formula Racing Promotions event. Bamford also ran at the 1st Watkins Glen event that year, and Rice drove Bamford's car in the final Glen event in that inaugural season. For the next 11 years RiceRace brought over 100 entries to FRP events, with ten Rice race drivers winning races overall. Those drivers were Steve Bamford, Braiden Eves, Colin Mullan, Simon Sikes, Jackson Lee, Trey Burke, Elliott Budzinski, Thomas Schrage, Ely Navarro, and Ayrton Houk. Sikes and Schrage won F1600 Championships in 2020 and 2022 respectively. Sikes won SCCA Championships in FF and FC. Bamford won several Masters Championships. Eves, Mullan, Sikes, Lee, Budzinski, Schrage, and Houk all won Team USA Scholarships, as did another RiceRace driver Andre Castro. RiceRace drivers Alex Scaler and Jason Pribyl were Team USA Scholarship nominees. It has been a very successful 12 years for the team which had crew members Carlos Rodrigues, Andrew Spencer, Chris Livengood, Alan Oppel, and Dillon Axarlis behind the pit wall for many of those events. Hoosier Tire and Quicksilver Race Engines were also there for the duration. Greg Rice thanks all these people for this success story, as well as the dozens of other people that were involved through these times!
