Thomas Schrage Returns to RiceRace for Mid-Ohio

Rice Race announces the return of Thomas Schrage for this weekend’s Formula Race Promotions F1600 event at Mid-Ohio Sportscar Course. The 19-year-old Ohio native won 9 races and accumulated 16 podiums on route to becoming the 2022 FRP F1600 Champion and a winner of the prestigious Team USA Scholarship. Thomas now competes in the 2024 USF2000 Championship Series presented by Continental Tires with Exclusive Autosport. His next USF2000 event is at Indianapolis Motor Speedway on May 9-11.

“I’m excited to return to my former championship winning team, especially at my home track. I scored pole, two race wins and a podium there in 2022. I also made a successful USF2000 debut there last year where I was near the top of the timing charts in testing. I have high hopes for great results and valuable seat time. Thank you to Greg at Rice Race for the opportunity to get in one of his cars this weekend, Airport Electric Service, Boys and Girls Club of Greater Cincinnati, and Corpay Cross-Border Solutions for the support in 2024.”

RiceRace continues their mission to win F1600 races in the Formula Race Promotions F1600 Championship with the this announcement. The team will run Thomas as it ran Simon Sikes at the previous event at Road Atlanta, where the team dominated testing and practice before a broken spark plug ruined Simon's races, only allowing a 2nd place finish in the shortened final race after starting last.

The RiceRace team still has one seat available for the remaining 15 races in the F1600 Series as well as selected SCCA events. "Our team is currently in a phase where we are working with new drivers and focused on driver development. But the crew likes being fast and winning races, so we take every opportunity to show off our fine form with some truly special drivers" reports team boss Greg Rice. "We will continue to do that with every opportunity." Interested drivers can contact Greg at RiceRacePrep@gmail.com.
