The FRP F1600 Series started its season at Carolina Motorsport Park on Easter weekend. Guest driver Bob Perona joined regular RiceRace drivers Will Holtz and Kyle August as they took on a strong field of F1600 racers. After a day of testing, it became apparent that there was 8 drivers in contention for the win. Bob, Will, and Kyle each finished on top of the last three test sessions and each was confident of having a strong weekend.
Bob was in the thick of the action in all 3 races, starting from pole in race 2, leading some laps, and getting in several skirmishes with the other leaders. Bob finished 3rd in race 2 and won the Masters class in races 1 and 2. Will brought his Linear Edge, Level Up Racing School entry to 4th in race 1 and 2, finishing with a fine podium in race 3. Kyle started from outside pole in race 2 in his Monro entry and scored three 5th place finishes.
