The Champ Returns. Sikes Wins Three at Mid-Ohio

Simon Sikes had an off weekend from USF2000 racing and returned to FRP F1600 competition with a dominant performance. Driving a different RiceRace Mygale, but with the familiar number 6, Sikes topped every session over the 3 day event. The 27 car field was incredibly competitive behind Sikes, with less than 2 seconds covering the next 20 cars. RiceRace team mates Will Holtz and Kyle August were between 3rd and 10th in every session, with Holtz scoring a pair of 5ths and a 4th, August with a best of 6th.

Simon Sikes won 3 FRP F1600 races at Mid-Ohio to give him 14 wins in his 27 career F1600 starts.

"We have to apologize for stinking up the show. This may have been the best FRP F1600 field ever and we put Simon back in for the weekend." reports team owner Greg Rice. "Simon has a habit of doing that. We burned up our tires building leads in the first races and it made it much closer in the final race. Nothing would make me happier than to see Simon too busy racing in the Road to Indy events to be able to drive our cars. Someone in IMSA or Indycar needs to help fund his racing career and move him up the ladder." The 3rd RiceRace Mygale will have various guest drivers through the season. Dexter Czuba will run at Barber and IMSA/TransAm driver, Misha Goikhberg at Road America. The car is still available for the PIRC (Pittsburgh) FRP events. Between Braden Eves and Sikes, the RiceRace team has won 9 of the last 12 races at PIRC, with 2 seconds, and a 5th when the ignition switch got knocked off while leading. It is a great opportunity for a new driver to come in and make a spectacular F1600 debut.
