Sikes and Lee Win at Mid-Ohio FRP F1600

Simon Sikes won race 1 at Mid-Ohio and finished 2nd in race 2.

At the scorching hot Mid-Ohio round of FRP F1600 competition, The RiceRace pair of Simon Sikes and Jackson Lee won two of the three races. Sikes also finished 2nd in race 2, but failed to start race 3 when a bizarre mechanical issue occurred on the pace lap, stopping the car with a locked LF wheel. Sikes Group 6 entry continues to be the car to beat and the championship leader as the Series heads to the next event at VIR on July 18-19.

Jackson Lee took the top podium spot in race 3.

After Dexter Czuba scored his first win in race 2, Jackson Lee controlled race 3 in his Tnemec entry for his first win in FRP competition. Lee, 17, from Avon, IN, brings major associate partnership from Indiana Coating Specialists, representing Tnemec Company, Inc. Other associate partners include Rising Star Racing, Subway of Hobart/Valparaiso, IN, Caldwell Realty, Jackson Hewitt of Hobart, IN, Bell Racing Helmets, Hinchman Racewear, Lake Cable Consulting of Canton, OH, BSA Life Structures, Performance Tire Service Company, Cabin Coffee Company of Avon, IN and Moeller Printing in Indianapolis.

Kyle August had a strong drive to 5th in race 3.

Kyle August drove the #13 Monro entry, getting caught up in other people's crashes for much of the weekend, but had a spectacular run from the back to 5th place in race 3.
