At the scorching hot Mid-Ohio round of FRP F1600 competition, The RiceRace pair of Simon Sikes and Jackson Lee won two of the three races. Sikes also finished 2nd in race 2, but failed to start race 3 when a bizarre mechanical issue occurred on the pace lap, stopping the car with a locked LF wheel. Sikes Group 6 entry continues to be the car to beat and the championship leader as the Series heads to the next event at VIR on July 18-19.
After Dexter Czuba scored his first win in race 2, Jackson Lee controlled race 3 in his Tnemec entry for his first win in FRP competition. Lee, 17, from Avon, IN, brings major associate partnership from Indiana Coating Specialists, representing Tnemec Company, Inc. Kyle August drove the #13 Monro entry, getting caught up in other people's crashes for much of the weekend, but had a spectacular run from the back to 5th place in race 3.
