Sikes and Lee Win at VIR FRP

Closest finish in FRP history. Sikes #6 by .001s.

RiceRace was at VIR raceway on the Juky 17-19 weekend to combat temperatures in the 100 degree range and a field of the best F1600 racers in the country. Simon Sikes in his Group 6 entry, and Jackson Lee in his Tnemec entry set the pace throughout, both recording wins. Saturdays Race 1 was a classic as the pair finished in a dead heat. Different cameras indicated different winners, but a frame-by-frame study of the video, gave the win to Simon. While various issues kept Simon from a podium return on Sunday, Jackson was only getting started, finishing second in race 2, and winning race 3. The RiceRace team was in fine form with fast drivers, fast cars, and a heroic performance by the crew of five.

Team owner Greg Rice reports " Simon started the season hot and has not let up, but the rest of the field has been forced to up their game. Jackson has been so impressive, and his growth in 3 events has been unbelievable. He just soaks up every drop of information on every lap. Both drivers are in fine form! We are looking forward to Summit Point in a month, where Kyle August will return in his #13 Monro entry."
