Simon Sikes stunk up the FRP F1600 event at Pittsburgh Race Complex with 3 strong race wins in his Group 6 Mygale, leaving a fierce battle behind for the runnerup podium position in each race. The 19 year old from Georgia was fastest in every test and practice session but one, where he provided the tow to the driver that just nipped him in that session. RiceRace owner Greg Rice reports, "We have a setup for this track that works really well, and Simon goes very well here. He has now won 5 of 6 at PIRC in two different cars, only missing the 6th win when he accidentally turned of the power while leading. We will enjoy this magical weekend and hope we can reproduce it again at future events this year".
Team mate Jackson Lee had a tough weekend in his Tnemec Mygale. He spent much of the time running in 2nd position in the three races, but struggled with final finish, tangling with another car in race 1, then 8th and 6th after some overheating issues.
Both drivers will be back in action at Mid-Ohio on the Independence day weekend, joined by Kyle August in his #13 Monro Mygale. Jackson Lee will drive the #52 Mygale with a major associate partnership with Indiana Coating Specialists, representing Tnemec Company, Inc.
